The Intersection of Activism and Entertainment

Strategy is beautiful.

I think. A lot. I motivate your audiences through creative content, and I take the role as muse very seriously—and playfully.

Silver Muse Productions is the culmination of more than two decades of my work in progressive circles. I discovered my love of pop culture and activism in the late 1980s while a college student in Washington, D.C. (Thank you, 9:30 Club, Dischord Records, Positive Force, Food not Bombs, Public Enemy, Act Up, Amnesty International, etc.)

When I was a kid, I was obsessed with the comic Bloom County and fully credit the politically savvy strip with sparking my left-leaning values and demonstrating the power of entertainment to influence beliefs and actions.

Today, I am a creative communication, campaign, and event strategist uniquely positioned to connect groups doing good work to the people, places, and things that can help move the audience to action. I specialize in managing projects from concept to completion, though I can also run point for any project already on the books. I work on projects of all sizes and value the unique contributions of each client.

I know there is strength in the differences between us. I know there is comfort where we overlap.

The following folks are friends, mentors, collaborators, and all around good people doing good and creative things. Thanks for being so smart and inspiring to work with!

I appreciated the one-on-one attention with the presenters, the time to work on our story, the breakdown of the story building process, and addressing the need to question which audience the story is targeting.
