Lollapalooza Tour

Rocking across the country on alternative energy

Nearly 2500 gallons of biodiesel later, Lollapalooza 2003 rocked on alternative energy. Working with the National Biodiesel Board, Lollapalooza ran its festival stage on biodiesel and, with the help of Schatz Energy Research Center, demonstrated hydrogen fuel cell technology to concert-goers each day. In several cities, Lollapalooza used solar panels to power sound systems and DJ set-ups, and collected more than 15,000 signatures from concerned citizens who want to state, for the record, that renewables are indeed doable. Lollapalooza also invited groups like Tom Morello’s Axis of Justice, Positive Youth Alliance and Peta2.com to table at every show. Silver Muse Productions developed the political and non-profit strategy for the tour, including an alternative fuel plan that was covered by MTV. EVENT PRODUCTION / POP STRATEGY / MEDIA PLANNING
